What motivates you to be a Cypress Ambassador?
Being a Cypress Ambassador is a deeply rewarding experience for me, rooted in my personal journey into the test automation space. Cypress’s user-friendly interface and powerful capabilities made it a game-changer in my career, enabling me to thrive in this dynamic field.
By sharing my knowledge and experiences, I hope to empower others to embark on their own automation journeys with confidence. I want to be a part of a community that fosters learning, collaboration, and growth, ensuring that newcomers to test automation can benefit from the same supportive environment that I was fortunate to have.
How do you currently help others that are either using Cypress or interested in using Cypress?
First of all, as a part of my daily work, I collaborate with the team at my current company where we aim to leverage the full potential of Cypress in our testing workflows. I also actively support others in their Cypress journey by sharing best practices and learning tips through public speaking engagements, LinkedIn posts and one-on-one mentorship. My goal is to make Cypress more accessible and practical for everyone.
What is your favorite Cypress feature?
I love Cypress's Automatic Waiting and Retry feature for streamlining test execution and preventing flakiness. The debugging tools, especially the time-travel and the test replay feature, help navigate through application states and review logs easily. I firmly believe that test automation should be straightforward, and Cypress aligns with this philosophy, making the testing process more accessible and focused on quality assurance.
What is your favorite "Cypress Best Practice" and why?
Test Isolation: tests should always be able to be run independently from one another and still pass. You can't fully trust your test results If one test is relying on the state of a previous one.
Outside of work, what are your favorite things to do (hobbies, passions, etc.)?
Spending time with my family and friends, outdoor activities, traveling and photography.
What is one professional milestone you are proud of? (an accomplishment, celebration, recognition, etc.)
Stepping into the public speaking space and presenting at 10+ conferences and podcasts in the recent couple of years!
