What motivates you to be a Cypress Ambassador?
I'm thrilled about becoming a Cypress Ambassador because it offers me the opportunity to assist others in uncovering the capabilities of automation testing and its potential in the development of potential platform.
How do you currently help others that are either using Cypress or interested in using Cypress?
So far, in my capacity I helped couple of people to get started with Cypress, and also directing them to right documentation and video tutorials, as sometimes the Cypress info-materials is so vast that the beginners get overwhelm and lost track easily.
What is your favorite Cypress feature?
Ability to time travel through the video recordings.
What is your favorite "Cypress Best Practice" and why?
Apart from many best practices, my personal favorite is data-* attributes, it keeps the test-suite error free from accidental change of selectors by the developers.
Outside of work, what are your favorite things to do (hobbies, passions, etc.)?
Playing boardgames, solving rubix family pack, watching sci-fi movies/shows
What is one professional milestone you are proud of? (an accomplishment, celebration, recognition, etc.)
I take immense pride in is driving the implementation of a complex automation framework as the sole QA engineer. It demanded meticulous planning, collaboration, and dedication. Witnessing the project come to fruition and observing tangible improvements in our testing efficiency and quality is incredibly fulfilling.
For new users - what is the best way to "get started" with Cypress?
Starting with 'npm install cypress --save-dev', the scaffold structure created by this statement is the best place to start with. Studying integration/examples gives a very good understanding of how to customize your own test suite structure. Later when enhancing test suite, cypress documentation comes handy and learning javascript on the side, gives you more flexibility to write complex custom commands.
What is your favorite quote or saying?
This is my own saying or approach, which keeps me trying for a solution. "Every problem has a solution, if it doesn't then it's not qualified as a problem"
