What motivates you to be a Cypress Ambassador?
The opportunity to be at the forefront of Quality Assurance, the opportunity to impact and be impacted, most all being a Cypress evangelist is an honor.
How do you currently help others that are either using Cypress or interested in using Cypress?
Learning a new tool or troubleshooting testing issues can be challenging. I offer encouragement and support, reinforcing that persistence and practice are key to mastering Cypress.
What is your favorite Cypress feature?
Automatic Waiting, Time Travel Debugging and Error Handling.
What is your favorite "Cypress Best Practice" and why?
- Parallel Execution: Atomic and independent tests can be run in parallel more effectively, significantly reducing the time it takes to run an entire test suite.
- Cypress also encourages good design practices
- finally the anti-pattern of cy.wait (Why wait?)
Outside of work, what are your favorite things to do (hobbies, passions, etc.)?
Scuba Diving, Go Kart, Hike, Read Technical Docs and Movies
What is one professional milestone you are proud of? (an accomplishment, celebration, recognition, etc.)
The most recent one, receiving accolades from my team and senior management for solving a technical problem by thinking out of the box.
For new users - what is the best way to "get started" with Cypress?
Don't rush into it without knowing what it is and what it can and can not do. Start slow, then explore by reading documentation (also collaborate) and know, there's more than one way of solving the problem.
